Signage in acoustic panels

Vintage King is a professional audio dealer with a large showroom in Burbank, California, that required acoustic treatment. This main demo room serves as a demonstration area for a variety of equipment and products.

VMT acoustic panels allowed to customize the signage of Vintage King in the main wall while addressing also the sound absorption requirements of the room. The ceiling's high reverberation was treated with Suspended Baffle PET and ViCloud VMT, while the remaining walls received Flexi Wave Ultra, Cinema Round Premium and Wavewood.

In-display at the room is also a VicBooth Ultra 2x3 unit, where visitors can experience the sound insulation environment inside the cabin compared to the large space outside.

Project for reverberation issues

The showroom is a large warehouse-type space, with very high reverberation times, therefore excessive reverberation is one of the main acoustic issues reported to Vicoustic, who developed an acoustic project for the space.

While the main goal of a demo room is to showcase a variety of products, it is paramount that a suitable acoustic environment is created for such a room. In this specific case, demonstration of audio products is certain to happen, which will in several cases involve sound reproduction through loudspeakers.

In a highly reverberant space, not only the reflective surfaces and high reverberation times will contribute to excessive background noise build-up, but also for the lack of clarity and intelligibility when sound reproduction occurs. This may lead to a less pleasant experience of the demonstration and may even cloud a customer’s judgment when considering and evaluating certain products.

For these reasons, Vicoustic’s recommendation for VKLA’s demo room aims to: provide an appropriate showcase of Vicoustic’s products, recurring to the use of exciting configurations, finishes and new products.

By improving the acoustics of the showroom, it is likely that the customer’s experience is also improved and the environment becomes more comfortable.
