A production and recording studio built for serious work needs two rooms that behave differently and agree perfectly: an isolated vocal recording room and a control room where every mix decision has to be trusted. This Kuwait-based Studio pairs both, and OAV SPC Co., UniVicoustic's certified partner in the country, engineered the acoustic treatment for each space.

Acoustic Treatment

Control & Production Room

Overhead, three products share the diffusion and absorption load: Flexi Wave Ultra, in wave-form ribbons of blue and white, adds hybrid scattering and absorption above the mix position; a 3D block-pattern Multifuser DC3 installation (now updated into Multifuser DC4) diffuses sound across a wide frequency range; and Cinema Round Premium panels complete the overhead field with broadband absorption, controlling reflections without over-damping the room.

On the walls, Cinema Round Premium covers the primary listening surfaces for mid-to-high frequency absorption at ear height, Flexi Wave Ultra treats the transition surfaces beside the monitoring position, and Multifuser Wood panels add diffusion so the room stays lively enough to judge a mix honestly.

Super Bass Extreme Ultra panels sit in the wall-ceiling corners, managing the low-frequency buildup that is a common source of inaccurate bass judgments in small-to-medium control rooms. The same corner-loading principle covered in our guide to acoustic panels for recording studios.

Vocal Recording Room

The room ceiling is finished in a Vixagon hexagonal layout, alternating grey and blue tiles to scatter sound evenly across the vocal position and control first reflections above the mic, produced here as a bespoke, made-to-order solution rather than a standard catalog configuration.

On the side walls, the geometry continues in a central cluster flanked by vertical-line panels, echoing the discontinued VicWallpaper finish, also available only on custom order. Together, ceiling and walls break up parallel-surface reflections around the vocalist without deadening the room.

In the wall-to-ceiling corners, Super Bass Extreme Ultra absorbs the low-frequency buildup that untreated corners in small rooms.

The Resut

Built for both tracking and mixing rather than one or the other, this studio shows what a full-surface treatment plan looks like when every product is chosen for a specific acoustic job rather than applied generically.

OAV SPC Co.'s installation in Kuwait pairs that acoustic discipline with a clean, minimalist finish: white and light grey panel work, navy accents, and cove lighting that make the treatment part of the room's design rather than an add-on to it.
