In a private residence of the State of Mexico, a new standard for private cinema has been set. Aptly titled "The Room," this project is a stunning showcase of how high-end interior design and world-class acoustic engineering can live in perfect harmony.
Designed by Vicoustic Project Team in conjunction with our talented partners at AV Daksma, and implemented by iarkitektura, this home theater was built with a singular goal: to create an immersive, professional-grade auditory experience without sacrificing the room's sleek, modern aesthetic.
Walls: Precision Sound Sculpting
The side walls are defined by the striking, organic flow created by a sophisticated mix of acoustic elements. Flexi Wave Ultra are strategically interspersed with Cinema Round Ultra VMT and Cinema Round Ultra Fuser.
To complete the seamless look, VicStrip was applied to the remaining wall surfaces and the entrance door, allowing the door to disappear into the architecture without compromising the room's acoustic integrity.
Ceiling: Precision and Stealth
To manage vertical reflections without drawing attention away from the film, the ceiling features a rhythmic, high-performance layout. Rows of Multifuser DC3 (now evolved into the Multifuser DC4) are glued directly to the ceiling, interspersed with rows of Cinema Round Premium in a deep Black finish.
Seamless Technical Integration
The technical foundation of the theater is built directly into the front wall. Behind the screen, the entire surface was treated with Vicycle 60 and covered with Flat Panel VMT Black. This provides heavy-duty absorption while managing unwanted light reflections that could otherwise wash out the screen's contrast. This specialized layout allows high-performance monitors to be seamlessly recessed into the treatment.
"The Room" is a testament to the power of collaboration!
