Luxurious CEDIA finalist

Finalist of the 2023 CEDIA Smart Home Awards EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), this luxury Loft's home integration was implemented by Tera Generation Solutions, Vicoustic's partner in Pakistan, who used acoustic panels to optimize the room and even a false facade wall inspired by the Portuguese brand's 'flagship' Wavewood lines. The AV Lounge in Pakistan is featured in the awards book of CEDIA as a finalist.

Multi-purpose cinema

"The entire multimedia room is acoustically controlled by aesthetically pleasing 100% green, re-locatable, washable and fire-rated sustainable acoustic panels, manufactured by Vicoustic in Portugal", said the installers from Tera Generation Solutions in a case study for the room.

Acoustic absorption and diffusion techniques

The Reverb Time RT60 rating is less than 0.7 seconds. It's achieved for speech clarity and an ideal home theater room sound feedback beyond first reflections. The Lombard effect in the rear of the room is treated separately due to the deep structural orientation of the multi-purpose space.

A combination of absorption and diffusion techniques was employed to achieve the desired acoustic balance and optimal ‘cinematic experience’. Absorption panels were strategically placed to absorb excess sound energy and minimize reflections, while diffusers were used to scatter and disperse sound waves, ensuring a more even distribution of sound throughout the space. First reflections are treated by the application of proportionate absorption panels on the left, right and ceiling of the seating area.

Cinema Round Premium absorbers are placed in the ceiling, while Flexi Wave Ultra panels are used among VicPattern panels in an extension of the room with a ping-pong table. The Wavewood hybrid panels alternate for diffusion control throughout the room from the facade and side walls.

In this luxury Loft, a Multimedia and Game Lounge stands out for its multidirectional position, mixing Middle East tradition with modern media systems. The room is equipped with a 7.1.2 ATMOS Surround, 4K Laser Projection from an Ultra Short Throw Laser 4K Unit, and a 120 inch Floor Rising Screen.

The LOFT residence

The goal for the 'LOFT residence' was to design a smart living space that offers utmost convenience in terms of usability and intelligently adapted to user's lifestyle. Energy preservation and logic based controls are an integral part of the solution.

Integrated systems offer an immersive multimedia and living experience programmed with ambiance lighting, fit to cater any social setting and scene for an 8 acre eco-friendly residential estate featuring stables, a themed bar, tennis courts, an exceptional game/media room, a small dairy, vegetable farm, fruit orchard and swimming pools that envelope the main building structure in a stately fashion. A hidden retreat engaging all desired elements of an avant-garde living while sprawling land-scape engulf the property. A socially engaging private space away from urban jungle.

The LOFT residence is home to a worldly couple with refined taste and exuberant lifestyle rooting from their creative backgrounds. The newly weds required segregation between social and private spaces. To effectively celebrate and showcase the integration of Art, Nature, Culture, Hospitality, Home Fashion, Architecture, and Music, a specific and intricate control system was essential.

The Project is named after the glass-encased LOFT bedroom in the large double heightened living room, visually highlighting this oft-neglected part of modern homes. The LOFT Residence draws inspiration from the earthy and modest flat-roofed mud huts that populate most of rural Pakistan. Combining the earthy tone with facades of towering glass and aluminum, pays tribute to and modernize our traditional farmhouse structure. The outcome is a unique mix of modernism and harmony with nature.

In realization of the myriad of factors presented by such a large scale property, system design required maximum and efficient control. Intelligently engraved and strategically located be-spoke switches offer minimize wall clutter and a simple control.

Core parameters of well-being, energy-efficiency and environmental sustainability were addressed via innovative integration. The illumination design for such dynamics was carefully crafted to bring out the unique features and detail of each element. The lighting design is adaptable and customizable, allowing for flexibility in highlighting various silhouettes of the space as needed.

Achieving the desired outcome required repeated interactive sessions with the client regarding interior surfaces, acoustic material selections to achieve isolation and interior tone of featured walls to create a truly captivating experience. The client required minimum dependency on domestic assistance while ensuring privacy and maximizing control over diverse systems and processes, all while providing a straightforward user interface. Sophisticated security systems and protocols safeguard privacy throughout the property.
