The sustainable studio
Maciej Polanski has become a Professional Audio Expert in Poland, serving video tutorials on mastering, mixing, and recording studio subjects through the website Musoneo. To accomplish better results in acoustic treatment in the studio he uses for his videos, he requested a project to Vicoustic.
He ended up with a fresh new studio workstation designed with sustainability in mind, thanks to the use of VMT, a high-performance material produced mainly from recycled plastic bottles, that is recyclable and safe for human health. The VicStudio VMT Box solution was combined with Super Bass Extreme Ultra VMT for bass trap treatment in the corners and Cinema Round Premium for absorption. Maciej analyzed the result on his YouTube review.
"The sound is significantly better"
"The stereo field, stereo separation, transient perception, and overall sound is significantly better", says Maciej Polanski. "The mid-range and the bass got much tighter and controlled. Actually, I was impressed how the sound got tighter when I installed the Super Bass Extreme Ultra VMT bass trap in an empty room. I moved speakers a bit closer to the wall, turned off the built-in "bass-controller" and I can really feel the bass is fast and punchy now (it was vague and boomy before).
"I am sure my mixes will be even better now. I love the way the reverb in the room is controlled, it is very short and lets me control the parameters of VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins in more depth, so I can play more with reverb time, color, and short delays. I am very happy I decided to treat my room acoustically, I regret I have not done it years ago."
