How to soundproof a closet floor
One of the key elements when planning a closet is the sound insulation of the floor. By soundproofing the floor, it's possible to achieve a quieter ambiance by reducing noise from impacts to the ground vibrating across the house. In this closet refurbishment, we used Iso Under Floor, a highly efficient solution in the treatment of structural noise at floor level. It ensures a high level of isolation by diminishing the sound emitted from joins between the floor and the rest of the construction.
Sound treatment for walls and ceilings
Another key part of a closet sound treatment is the use of acoustic panels. In this case, instead of traditional foam panels, we used VicPET Wool panels, made from mainly recycled plastic and safe for human health. After filling the walls and ceiling with this PET solution, we could finally instal the furniture of the closet.
Acoustic panels with a stone look
The final element was the ceiling acoustic treatment. Flat Panel VMT in a Natural Stones pattern ended up being the solution, providing the sound absorption of acoustic panels developed from VicPET Wool, while giving it a sophisticated look with the Patagonia stone design.
