Transforming a Home into a Versatile Listening Space

A homeowner with a passion for music and audio sought to improve the sound quality in their living room without converting it into a dedicated Hi-Fi listening room.

Vicoustic's Project team designed a solution to enhance the acoustics of the space while maintaining the room’s primary function as a cozy and stylish living area. The client was overwhelmed by the sound enhancement.

"Truly amazing” sound improvement

“The sonic improvements are amazing: larger and deeper soundstage, better imaging, and a much smoother, more linear and pleasant sound. Audiophiles who spend near or above 5k for an audio system and do not also invest some extra money for an acoustic room treatment will never know how good their systems can really sound. I knew this was important but the results surpassed my expectations. Truly amazing!"

When design and performance meet

The solution to reach the perfect balance between performance and aesthetics came in the form of the VicStrip Spacer Kit, a design-forward acoustic treatment kit. This innovative solution combines the VicStrip slat panel with a wood look with an extra layer of PET and a VicSpacer with an air gap to enhance acoustic results in wall installations.

One of the standout features of the VicStrip Spacer Kit is its sleek, modern design. The customizable wood finishes and varying slat sizes allowed the panels to blend harmoniously with the homeowner’s existing décor. Instead of compromising the room’s visual appeal, the panels enhanced it, adding a touch of sophistication while serving a functional purpose.

Early reflections were the priority

Vicoustic's Project Design included Cinema Round Premium to treat the impact of early reflections and Multifuser DC3 to control the spreading of those reflections evenly by the room. Original drawings also recommended Super Bass Extreme Ultra VMT in the corners and additional panels for the back wall in the dining area to complete the treatment of low frequencies and late reflections, but a compromise was reached with the installation of just the early reflections treatment to avoid overloading the room.

By integrating the VicStrip Spacer Kit in this project, the living room now delivers top-tier sound quality for music listening, while remaining a warm, inviting space for family gatherings and everyday living.

This project was developed by the Vicoustic Project Department, through our partners RL Home Interiores & Design.
