Acoustics in Online Courses

One of the largest creative communities in the world, Domestika, produces online training courses. Key to their recordings is speech intelligibility, which requires good acoustic conditions.

Vicoustic's partners Giraffe Audio worked on a large-scale acoustic installation project at Domestika's London location, across seven studios, including four TV studios, two screen casting rooms, and a photography studio, all whilst ensuring zero disruption to their busy filming schedule.

Cinema Round Premium sound absorbing panels and Super Bass 90 bass traps were the main choice for acoustic treatment.

Over 400 acoustic panels

Working closely with Vicoustic, Giraffe Audio's team installed over 400 acoustic panels across the seven studios to deliver optimum sound quality and minimal disruptions during filming and recording. The logistics of getting such a large amount of acoustic panels delivered, unpacked, and installed across multiple rooms was no small feat.

Installation around filming schedules

One of the key challenges for this project was coordinating the installation work around Domestika's busy filming schedule. With limited time to complete the installation, the team carefully planned the work around their operations, ensuring that they didn’t interfere with ongoing productions.
