Vicoustic Strengthens Responsible Sourcing with PEFC and FSC® Certifications

Vicoustic has reached a new milestone in its approach to responsible sourcing, achieving both FSC® and PEFC Chain of Custody certifications for forest-based materials used in selected products.

While FSC® and PEFC are two distinct certification systems, both provide recognised frameworks for tracing certified forest-based materials through the supply chain. For Vicoustic, they add another layer of independently verified sourcing information to a portfolio where material choice, design and performance increasingly go hand in hand.

FSC®: supporting responsible forestry through traceability

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international organisation dedicated to promoting responsible forestry worldwide.

Vicoustic’s FSC® Chain of Custody certification means that the forest supply chain is traceable for its FSC-certified products. It confirms that the forest-based material used in those products comes from well-managed FSC-certified forests, reclaimed material or other controlled sources, with conformity checked through independent third-party evaluations.

For architects, designers and other professionals specifying materials, this provides greater transparency and accountability when choosing FSC-certified Vicoustic products.

PEFC: tracing forest-based materials through the supply chain

PEFC - the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification — is a separate global forest certification system.

PEFC Chain of Custody certification tracks forest- and tree-based materials through the supply chain, connecting certified sources with the final product. The PEFC system identifies material originating from sustainably managed forests, as well as recycled and controlled sources.

This certification gives Vicoustic an additional framework for documenting and communicating the origin of eligible forest-based materials used in its products.
