Radio Studio Acoustics
The acoustic treatment recommended by our team of experts in these radio studios had the main goal to correct the reverberation, treat the first reflections and control the low frequencies, in order to guarantee the required sound quality. We chose to install Wavewood and Cinema Round acoustic panels on the walls, as well as on the ceiling, with the aim of treating the first reflections and controlling the reverberation time of the room.
The end result is a standard reverb time in broadcast, quite low but controlled and balanced in frequency.
The tree broadcasting studios, two of them interconnected by a glass window, are now fully operational and being used for news broadcast, radio shows and interviews.
Vicoustic Technical Director Gustavo Pires, an expert Acoustician, shows how a sound insulation project enabled a radio studio to be soundproof from outside noise interference.
This project was developed for RUM - Rádio Universitária do Minho, by Vicoustic's Project Team.
