The Tailored Acoustic Panels Idea
Nordea Asset Management (NAM), whose brand name, “Nordea”, is a blend of the words “Nordic” and “Idea”, challenged Vicoustic to present an original idea for acoustic treatment in their office workspaces in Portugal.
Vicoustic, whose name is a blend of the words “Visual” and “Acoustics”, rose to the challenge by presenting the idea of designing custom acoustic panels using PET materials covered with colorful, purpose-designed fabric.
This solution brought a joyful touch to various key areas of the office. From the coffee break zone to a cozy open-office seating space, and even the busy and noisy copy machine area, the panels offered both an aesthetically pleasing and acoustically effective way to transform these spaces.
Enhancing Spaces with Sustainable Acoustic Solutions
A standout feature of these panels is their use of VicPET Wool, a material made from recycled plastic that has been specially engineered to offer superior acoustic performance while meeting strict indoor air quality standards. This ensures that these workspaces not only benefit from exceptional sound control but also align with sustainable practices and health-conscious environments.
The colorful, joyful acoustic installations in the NAM offices illustrate the potential of tailored solutions to reshape office acoustics, making them quieter, more comfortable, and visually engaging. Through projects like these, Vicoustic continues to redefine how acoustic treatment can integrate with—and elevate—the design and functionality of modern workspaces.
For organizations seeking to balance acoustic effectiveness with appealing design, this project serves as an inspiring example of what’s possible when innovation and customization come together.
