Acoustic panels enhance sound and aesthetics
The ultimate hi-fi listening showroom is nestled in a luxurious suite in the heart of New York City. As you step inside Audio Den's installations, you are immediately greeted by a sense of sophistication and elegance. The room is thoughtfully designed to provide an immersive and unparalleled audio experience.
The suite is adorned with modern, sleek décor that complements state-of-the-art audio equipment. The walls are lined with high-end acoustic panels, meticulously chosen to ensure optimal sound absorption and diffusion. These panels not only enhance the overall listening experience but also add a touch of aesthetic appeal to the space.
"Sounds even better than it looks"
"The room sounds even better than it looks", says Bob Santos, from Audio Den. The room acoustic treatment was designed by Vicoustic's Project Team, that selected the sound panels that should be used and their position.
In order to control early reflections, Vicoustic has proposed sound absorbing panels, which control early reflections by taking energy from them (Cinema VMT, Flat Panel VMT, VicPattern Ultra Wavewood and Gen_VMT panel). Sound panels with wood front (VicPattern Ultra Wavewood) and sound diffusing panels (Multifuser Wood) help creating a sense of spaciousness inside which is normally valued by most audiophiles.
Absorption and bass trap with Cinema VMT
The use of Cinema Fortissimo installed in the corners as a bass trap was the solution to control the low end and room modes. These modes are set-up in small rooms due to the relationship between low frequency wavelengths and room dimensions. They can cause audible effects in the Listening Room’s sound field at low frequencies, by originating areas with minimum pressure levels and areas with maximum pressure levels that can vary as much as 15 dB.
This is one of the first rooms showcasing the state-of-the-art sound absorbers Cinema VMT Fortissimo and Piano, which combine elegant design with high quality sound treatment. This project was designed by the Vicoustic team for Audio Den, in USA, and Focal Naim America.
