“An Architectural Wonder”
The restoration of the Upper Town Gymnasium, in Zagreb, Croatia, was elected “An Achitectural Wonder” by National Newspaper J News. The historic structure, built for a Jesuit high school, which opened in 1607, was converted into a gymnastics gym since 1894, and was now restored to serve as multipurpose gymnasium.
Basement Hall Suspended Baffle Solution
The restoration of the basement hall of this multipurpose gymnasium included an acoustic treatment installation to improve the soundscape inside the old structure. Vicoustic's Partner Audion d.o.o installed the new Suspended Baffle Set as the main solution to treat the ceiling of the room, combined with ViCloud VMT 3D. The walls were treated with Flat Panel VMT.
The 3-baffle version of the Suspended Baffle Set used in this room, with dimensions of 1200x600x40mm, is an efficient solution for public or industrial spaces (like gymnasiums, classrooms, canteens, and factories), where you need to control noise build-up. Thanks to its innovative fixation system, the baffles can be placed sequentially with the fixations distributed over more spaced intervals than usual, using fewer fixation hooks and drilling holes.
The acoustic solutions were chosen to seamlessly integrate into the white tone room without impacting the historic structure.
