From Top DJ to Top Home Studio Acoustics

Henri Peiffer, known as Henri PFR, is a Belgian DJ, musician, producer and composer, who entered the TOP100 of the best DJs in the world in 2020. After many gold and platinum records and a tour on some of the biggest international stages, the artist decided to upgrade his studio's acoustics.

His home music studio is mainly used for creation, but also for activities such as sound recording, production and post-production. This type of room should allow good monitoring of sound signals being produced by the sources in the room as well as allow for adequate conditions for both playing and recording musical instruments, including vocals.

After a careful study from Vicoustic's Project Team, it was proposed an acoustic treatment solution featuring:

• Sound absorbing panels, which will control reflections by taking energy from them;
• Sound diffusing panels, which will control reflections by spreading their energy evenly by the room, creating a sense of spaciousness inside
• Bass traps, for low-frequency acoustic treatment.

Beat XL, a large panel to beat them all

The highlight of Henri PFR's room is the VicPattern Ultra Beat XL, the large acoustic panel designed for sound absorption and inspired by the rhythms of music notes. This panels find a curious mix in this room with the hybrid panels Flexi Wave Ultra and the flagship VicPattern Ultra Wavewood MKII.

The studio features Cinema Round Premium sound absorbers, alongside with Multifuser DC3 sound diffusers. The corners are filled Super Bass Extreme Ultra and VicTotem Ultra VMT, that act as bass traps in low-frequencies. And, for vocal recording, a Flexi Screen Ultra MKII is also featured.

The result is a room with acoustic treatment perfected for musical creation and composition, in a project that satisfied both the DJ and his cat.
