The sounds and images shown in this example portray a school classroom, with a teacher giving a class whith background noise from moving students, in an untreated and a treated classroom.
Untreated classroom
The message is being blurred by excessive gate reverberation and masked by noise from students moving in the background, compromising speech intelligibility.
Treated classroom
Reverberation in the classroom and noise build-up are both being controlled by the use of acoustic treatment in the ceiling. This way, speech intelligibility is maximized and the message can be clearly perceived.
