Based in Los Angeles, with an arsenal of infectious melodies up his sleeve, songwriter, producer and performer Ben Charles is taking the music world by storm. Recent cuts include 4 tracks on Disney's 'Shake It Up' soundtrack, including the lead single, 'Watch Me', and the song 'Teenage Hearts' on Hollywood Records’ act Allstar Weekend's sophomore album, 'All The Way'.
The 'Shake It Up' soundtrack debuted at no.1 on Billboard Soundtracks, no.1 on Billboard Kids Albums, and no.22 on the Billboard 200, while 'Watch Me' was iTunes’ number one selling song from a soundtrack every day for over a month.

Ben talks to Vicoustic about some recent recording projects involving the Flexi Screen Ultra.


How did you first hear about Vicoustic?
I first heard about Vicoustic from some of my writer/producer friends.  Everyone I know who's had an experience with Vicoustic products has always been beyond satisfied!

What projects are you working on right now that involve use of the Flexi Screen Ultra?
Right now I'm working on a number of projects, including songs for the Disney Channel original series Shake It Up, Hollywood Records’ recording artist Allstar Weekend, and music for some new shows and artists that you'll be hearing about very soon!!  The Flexi Screen Ultra has proven very useful in my projects whenever I need to cut a great sounding vocal, regardless of the room I happen to be working in.  It's simple to use, extremely effective, aesthetically pleasing, and makes for an awesome sounding vocal.

How have you found the recording experience?
The recording experience with the Flexi Screen Ultra is phenomenal.  It is such a simple, convenient, and portable way to capture an awesome vocal, without having to worry about the acoustics of the room.  When traveling, it's impossible to always have the perfect room to work in, but with the Flexi Screen Ultra that's no longer an issue for me. Set it up on the mic stand and it's like you're cutting in a top of the line treated studio!

What does the immediate future hold for you?
I'm in the midst of some new and exciting writing and producing projects.  I have a number of new songs coming out in 2012 that I'm so excited for everyone to hear!
